In the context of cannabis products, "supply chain" refers to the system of processes involved in sourcing, production, and distribution. This includes all the steps that a cannabis product goes through from the moment it is cultivated until it reaches the consumer. This encompasses several key functions:

1. Sourcing raw materials such as seeds and nutrients.

2. The cultivation and harvesting process of the cannabis plants.

3. Processing and manufacturing activities, which may include the extraction of cannabinoids or the production of edibles and other products.

4. Packaging and labeling the products in compliance with regulations.

5. Distribution to retailers and dispensaries where consumers can purchase the products.

Understanding the supply chain is crucial for ensuring quality control, regulatory compliance, and effective logistics, all of which are vital in the cannabis industry where regulations are stringent. This definition highlights the importance of each step in maintaining product integrity and adhering to the legal standards that govern the cannabis market.
